Growing Together: A Mother-Daughter Relationship: A 12-Week Skills Group
Navigating the complexities of the mother-daughter relationship can be challenging. Young women often feel misunderstood, while mothers may face difficulties in providing the support their daughters need. This dynamic can lead to communication barriers and missed opportunities for connection.
Our 12-week, 45-minute coping skills group is specifically designed to address these challenges, fostering stronger bonds and enhancing communication between mothers and their teen daughters.
Each week, participants will engage in separate sessions tailored to their unique perspectives: one group for teens and another for mothers. Both groups will learn the same foundational skill, which will focus on one of four key areas: mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, or interpersonal communication. At the conclusion of each session, mothers and daughters will come together to explore how the newly acquired skill can be applied within their household to promote understanding, empathy, and mutual support.
Participants will receive a comprehensive workbook and supplementary handouts to reinforce learning and encourage continued practice outside of sessions. This structured, skills-based approach is designed to help families build stronger relationships rooted in understanding and trust.
Join us in creating a more harmonious and supportive mother-daughter connection.
